So let’s *sigh, deep breath* start a new series, shall we? This may not be very bright, considering the 2021 VBL Season starts in a week, but maybe I can get it done?

Anyway. We’ll be taking a quick look at each franchise’s pro players- but only pro players who are active in major league organizations. (In other words, I’m not going to scour the Indy Leagues for names at this point.)

I’ll do them in order from most players to fewest… so today, we have the Valley League franchise with the most pro players- the Strasburg Express, with 18!

Notes

  • The Express have the most players in the minor leagues among VBL teams, but they don’t have a major leaguer yet… but I believe this will no longer be the case very, very soon. Green, Herget, Avans, and Struble have all played at the Triple-A level in 2021, and I am 96.47% sure that Green will make his major league debut sometime this summer. Quote me on it.
  • White is a bit of a stretch- he’s still listed as active in Philadelphia’s system, but hasn’t pitched since 2018. And Martin, Urena, and Fernando have not played in 2021 yet (Urena and Fernando not at ALL yet.).
  • Best prospect? That’s Zach Peek, I think. Highest draft pick? Peek went in the 6th round in 2019.
  • The order of the above guys might look a little weird. Just so you know, I have them sorted by major league franchise.
