The one twitter vote has spoken! Today we’ll look at the next minor league report….
Our second installment of my latest dumb series is regarding Staunton’s pro players- of which they have 16, the second most among VBL teams:
| Hayes | Reed | RHP | Staunton | 2015 |
| Escarra | J.C. | 3B | Staunton | 2014 |
| Ward | Thad | RHP | Staunton | 2016 |
| Meisinger | Ryan | RHP | Staunton | 2014 |
| Jay | Jon | OF | Staunton | 2004 |
| Simoneit | Will | INF | Staunton | 2018 |
| Howard | Sam | LHP | Staunton | 2012 |
| Adams | Austin | RHP | Staunton | 2010-11 |
| McGrath | Kyle | LHP | Staunton | 2011 |
| Reeves | James | LHP | Staunton | 2013 |
| Margevicius | Nick | LHP | Staunton | 2015 |
| Zombro | Tyler | RHP | Staunton | 2014 |
| Pearson | Nate | RHP | Staunton | 2016 |
| Harris | Will | RHP | Staunton | 2003 |
| Gonzalez | Romy | 2B | Staunton | 2016 |
| Lopez | Irving | 2B | Staunton | 2016 |
Notes
- Strasburg does not have a major leaguer yet, but there are a whopping eight MLBers on Staunton’s list: Meisinger, Jay, Howard, Adams, McGrath, Margevicius, Pearson, and Harris. Zombro is in Triple-A, just one step away. I honestly think that Zombro and Ward will play in the majors, and Reeves, Lopez, and Gonzalez have (in my opinion) a 50-50 shot. Don’t @ me.
- The best “prospect” on this list is Pearson, but of the non-MLB players, it’s Ward. The highest draft pick is Pearson, who went 28th overall in 2017.
- Interesting that Harris played in the VBL a cool 18 years ago. One of his teammates was….. G.W. Laase, current Strasburg Express head coach.
