Hitter of the Day

It’s no secret that ATVL loves home runs, and games with multiple home runs definitely gives an advantage in this “contest.” So it should be no surprise that our HOD is Strasburg’s Brayton Brown, from Auburn, who went 2-4 with two home runs last night. He’s now hitting .337/.420/.628 in 86 at-bats, with 20 runs scored, four doubles, seven home runs, and 23 RBIs. This is his third HOD, having previously been selected on June 15 and June 24.

Pitcher of the Day

For the first time this season, we have a tie:

  • The first POD is Harrisonburg’s Andres Rodriguez, who earned a game score of 65, throwing six innings against Covington while allowing three hits, two runs, two walks, and striking out nine. He also earned the win. From Florida Tech, the senior is now 2-1, 2.36, with 27 strikeouts in 19 innings this summer. He was also POD on June 18.
  • The second POD is Strasburg’s Braden Ostrander, from Florida Atlantic, who threw five innings in relief, allowing one hit, one run, three walks, and striking out seven to earn the win. Even though he didn’t start, his numbers also come out to a game score of 65. Ostrander is now 1-1, 6.45, with 21 K’s in 15 1/3 innings pitched.
