Continuing our little “series” on former Valley Leaguers who have been named organization all-stars by milb.com, today we have former Front Royal Cardinal Dominic Canzone, named an all-star in Arizona’s organization.

Canzone, drafted in the 8th round in 2019 out of Ohio State, was assigned to High-A Hillsboro in 2021 after a decent pro debut in 2019. He hit .263/.337/.468 in 171 at-bats, but really took off when he was promoted to Double-A Amarillo at the end of July. In 130 at-bats at the higher level, Canzone hit .354/.425/.592, with eight doubles and seven home runs. He currently in the Arizona Fall League, and has started off a cool 10-29 in eight games.

In Front Royal in 2017, Canzone hit .404/.457/.544 in 114 at-bats, with three doubles, two triples, three home runs, 17 stolen bases, and a ridiculous 11/7 BB/K ratio. He was Baseball America’s #2 prospect that summer (behind Zach Peek), and Perfect Game’s top prospect. He was also ATVL’s #5 hitter.
