The second best reliever in the 2021 Valley League season is another returner- Peyton Millirons, from Waynesboro.
Millirons went 4-0, 1.63 in 2021, with one save, a .135 BAA, 0.909 WHIP, 4.1 BB/9, and 16.4 K/9 in 11 innings. Among pitchers on this list, he finished fifth in ERA, second in BAA, third in WHIP, and second in K/9. The righty from South Alabama was named second team All-Valley at the end of the season. On June 23 against Covington, he threw three no-hit, shutout innings, walking three and striking out five, and on June 27 against Front Royal, he threw four innings, allowing four hits, one run, no walks, and struck out six.
He also pitched for Zac Cole in New Market in 2018. In the regular season, he went 3-2, 5.40, with 26 K’s in 25 innings, and in the playoffs, he went 2-0, 0.00 in 6 1/3 innings, without allowing a hit or earned run, and struck out 13, helping the team to a VBL title.
Millirons was very, very good at Wallace-Dothan Community College for two seasons:
- 2018: 5-1, 3.00, three saves, 14 walks and 46 K’s in 39 innings
- 2019: 7-1, 0.87, one save, 11 walks and 61 K’s in 41 1/3 innings
He transferred to South Alabama in 2020, but only got four innings that year and two innings in 2021. It appears that he has left college and is now working for a construction company in Panama City, Florida.
