Well, dear reader, we’ve reached the top ten!
Our 10th best starting pitcher in the 2015 Valley League season is Harrisonburg’s Matt Hartman, the 6-foot-3 righthander from Arizona!
For the Turks, Matt went 5-1, 3.46, with only 28 hits and 14 walks in 41 2/3 innings pitched, while striking out 38. His WHIP is 1.007, BB/9 is 3.0, and K/9 is 8.2. His best start was on June 14th at Waynesboro, when Matt threw 6 shutout innings while allowing only 2 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 7 to earn the win.
Matt is currently a sophomore at Arizona. In his freshman year, he only threw 5 1/3 innings, but he won a game, and only allowed 1 earned run. Watch for him to play a much larger role for the PAC-12 school this spring!
