On June 10th, 2015, Staunton’s Walter Borkovich threw 8 excellent innings against Harrisonburg, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks, and striking out 8. The Traverse City native was attending Michigan State at the time.
Walter was signed as a nondrafted free agent in 2017 by the Atlanta Braves, and is currently with the Rome Braves in the South Atlantic League. He’s 3-0, 2.00, with 2 saves, a 1.26 WHIP, 7 walks and 22 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched.
