All five games were played last night, and it looks like the pitchers have reasserted themselves a bit. This has been a hitter-heavy summer, but last night “only” 44 runs were scored in the 5 games on the schedule.

Pitcher of the Day
There were three excellent starts last night; well, four, really, but three really outstanding ones. The best game score, however, goes to Charlottesville’s Jared Wetherbee, from Elon, who threw 5 dominating, shutout innings against Staunton. He allowed only 1 hit, 1 walk, and struck out 9 to earn a game score of 73. Jared is now 2-1, 1.76, with a crazy 31 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings pitched. This was his first start of the year!
