Ray Hernandez, a Purcelville Cannon in both 2016 and 2017, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves out of Alabama State in the 29th round this past June. He was assigned to the Gulf Coast League, where he hit 283/357/486 in 38 games in his first taste of pro ball. (With a number of lineouts, too, according to a link below.)

Two bits of information about Ray came across my desk in the last couple of days. First of all, there is a very, very good interview by the site “Outfield Fly Rule.” It’s long, but it’s most definitely worth the read. Click here.

The second thing is that a different website, “Walk Off Walk,” named Ray an organizational All-Star at first base just a couple days ago. Click here to read the article.

Good luck, Ray, as you work out to prepare for 2019!
