Yes, yet another Charlottesville Tom Sox reliever. It seemed that most of the arms Coach Hunt rolled out there threw well this summer.
Our latest is Hunter Gregory, the 6-foot-2, 200 pound righthanded sophomore from Old Dominion. Hunter was excellent in both the regular season and the playoffs for Charlottesville:
Among the pitchers on this list, Hunter finished 9th in ERA, 1st in innings pitched, 5th in batting average against, 4th in WHIP, and 9th in BB/9. Hunter had 8 different appearances in which he pitched at least two innings and allowed zero runs. He was obviously a crucial arm for the Sox.
The Tom Sox also might have a case of “what might have been” with Hunter. He started game two of the championship series, but had to leave the game after recording five outs because he was injured covering home plate on a wild pitch. Who knows what might have happened if he hadn’t been hurt? (And hopefully he’s fine now!)
Hunter threw quite a bit as a true freshman for the Monarchs:
Congratulations on your excellent summer, Hunter- ATVL hopes you are healthy and ready for your college season!
