2018 Triple-A Pitcher of the Year

We have reached the end of the minor league awards- the 2018 Triple-A Pitcher of the Year, to be given to the best hurler in either the International or the Pacific Coast League. Quite a number of pitchers threw well in 2018!

But first, the history:

2017- Ryan Yarbrough (Luray 2012)
2016- Chad Kuhl (New Market 2012)
2015- Scott Copeland (Staunton 2007)
2014- Adam Liberatore (Waynesboro 2007-08)
2013- Adam Liberatore (Waynesboro 2007-08)
2012- Brandon Dickson (New Market 2006)
2011- Rob Delaney (New Market 2003)
2010- Brandon Beachy (Woodstock 2008)

(Every one of these winners has pitched in the major leagues!)

Austin GomberThe 2018 Triple-A Pitcher of the Year is Austin Gomber (Luray 2012)! Adding to his collection, as Austin won the Double-A award in 2017 and the Full-Season A-Ball award in 2015, the lefty from Florida Atlantic went 7-3, 3.43 in 68 1/3 innings for Memphis, with a 1.24 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9, and 10.0 K/9. He spent about the last third of his season in the major leagues, and pitched well enough that he will most likely get to stay. (We hope.)
