It seems Dalton Oates has carried his 2018 summer success with Purcellville over to the spring for his college team.
Oates was dynamite for the Cannons last summer, finishing 3-0, 0.61 in 29 1/3 innings, with a 1.058 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9, and 12.0 K/9. ATVL named him the 4th best reliever in the league. The last statement of that article was: “Watch for Dalton to have a super sophomore year in Pennsylvania this spring!”
That has been true so far for sure. In two starts covering 11 innings for the Shippensburg Raiders, the 6-foot-2 lefty is 0-0, 0.82, with a 1.000 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9, and 16.4 K/9- he’s struck out 20 batters and walked only 2.
Keep it up, Dalton!
