Three former Valley Leaguers have been named All-Conference in the Atlantic Coast Conference… one first teamers, two third teamers…. (stats are through Tuesday, May 21)
- Kyle McCann, from Georgia Tech (Harrisonburg 2017), is first team at catcher. Kyle went on a power tear this year, putting up 301/465/694 numbers, with 52 runs, 10 doubles, 22 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a 56/65 BB/K ratio. He led the Yellow Jackets in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, home runs, RBIs, and walks. He will most likely get drafted in a couple weeks.
- Raymond Gil, from Miami (Winchester 2018), is third team at third base. Raymond is hitting 326/406/574 in 190 at-bats, with 34 runs, 14 doubles, 11 home runs, 39 RBIs, and a 24/61 BB/K ratio. He leads the Hurricanes in batting average. Gil is “just” a sophomore, so he isn’t draft eligible yet.
- Clemson’s Carson Spiers (Charlottesville 2017) is third team at relief pitcher. The junior has gone 2-5, 3.33, with 11 saves, a 1.06 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9, and 8.4 K/9 in 46 innings pitched.
