Hitter of the Day

We have a repeat winner for the first time- Charlottesville’s Cayman Richardson, from UVA! Cayman went 3-4 last night, with a run, 3 RBIs, walk, double, and home run. He’s now hitting 433/541/667 in 30 at-bats, with 11 runs and 9 RBIs. This was his third game of at least three hits as well.

Pitcher of the Day

Strasburg threw the first shutout of the season last night, and Kyle Coleman took care of the first five innings. He allowed 3 hits, 0 walks, and struck out 5 to earn the win and a game score of 66. It was the summer debut for the 6-foot-7 righthander from Florida A&M. In school this spring, he went 6-6, 3.52, with 81 strikeouts in 99 2/3 innings pitched.
