Well, minor league player of the year, true, but still a tremendous accomplishment for a system that included Vladimir Guerrero and Bo Bichette in April.
Yes, folks, Baseball America has named former Staunton Brave Nate Pearson (2016) the Toronto Blue Jays’ minor league player of the year. (Click here to see the article- subscription required.)
Over 24 starts at three different levels in 2019 (High-A Dunedin, Double-A New Hampshire, and Triple-A Buffalo), Pearson and his triple-digit fastball has gone 4-4, 2.05, with 24 walks and 114 strikeouts in 96 2/3 innings pitched. He has a 0.83 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9, and 10.6 K/9.
I am about 95% sure that Pearson will get a callup at some point in 2020.
Outstandingness!
