Now that we’ve finished the Valley League record book, we’ll turn our attention to the minor leagues (major leagues to come of course).

This does need some explanation, though. I have what I consider to be a 100% accurate list covering players between 2006 and today (well, maybe 95%, becuase I am human, after all). Then I have a list of all of history… which may or may not be 100% accurate. I added players as their connection to the Valley League became apparent, but there might be more… and it’s totally possible that a name or two on this list may have never played in the Valley. I’ve seen stranger things.

So we’ll begin with career runs scored- first, the 2006-2019 version, and then the all-time list.

2006-2019
1 Clint Robinson Harrisonburg ’05-06 583
2 Eric Campbell Luray ’06 546
3 Collin Cowgill Covington ’05 535
4 Joey Butler New Market ’06 531
5 Sherman Johnson Covington ’10 503
6 Tony Thomas Harrisonburg ’05 485
7 Ryan Schimpf Luray ’08 472
8 Ben Guez Covington ’06 423
9 Blake Tekotte Woodstock ’06 414
10 Jacob Wilson Luray ’09 389
11 Tyler Bortnick Front Royal ’06 387

Eric Campbell moved from 4th in 2018 to now 2nd, and Collin Cowgill stayed right behind him, moving from 5th to 3rd. Sherman Johnson moved up from 7th to 5th… but that’s as high as he’ll go, most likely, as he’s been released. Jacob Wilson is the only new name on the list (he was released as well- to sign in Korea).
