Let’s take a quick look at some former Valley Leaguers who performed well yesterday:
- Hunter Gregory (Charlottesville 2018) started for Old Dominion against Rhode Island, and even though ODU lost the game, 6-4, Gregory went six solid innings, allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk, and striking out 11. Kyle Battle (Charlottesville 2017) went 1-3 with a run and walk for ODU as well.
- In Campbell’s 8-1 win over Dayton, Spencer Packard (Front Royal 2018) went 3-3, with two doubles, a walk, and three RBIs for the Camels. Packard was the 13th best hitter in the league in ’18.
- Gabe Montenegro (Waynesboro 2018) went 2-5, with a run, three RBIs, double, and home run in Southern Mississippi’s 6-5 win over Connecticut.
- UAB annihilated Alabama A&M 22-2, partially thanks to a couple former VBLers. First of all, Colton Schultz (Strasburg 2018) went 4-4, with two runs, three RBIs, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and home run. Secondly, Riley Davis (Covington 2019), who started for UAB, threw seven outstanding innings, allowing four hits, two runs (1 earned), one walk, and struck out 9 to earn the win.
Congrats to all!
