The East Carolina baseball team might seem like an under-the-radar team in college baseball, but only to those who aren’t paying attention. The team is currently 11-2, and d1baseball.com has the squad ranked 14th in the nation.
What most also probably don’t know is that three former Valley Leaguers are performing very, very well so far, and are a major reason the team is playing so well.
Let’s take a quick look:
- Connor Norby (Waynesboro 2019) is ripping the cover off the ball, slashing .456/.508/.754 in 57 at-bats, with 14 runs scored, five doubles, four home runs, 16 RBIs, a 6/9 BB/K ratio, and three stolen bases. He’s starting to get some buzz from scouts. Norby was the 12th best hitter in the league in ’19.
- Thomas Francisco (Charlottesville 2019) is also performing very well; he’s hitting .351/.406/.404 in 57 at-bats, with 15 runs, a home run, 10 RBIs, and a 4/6 BB/K ratio. He was the league’s 7th best hitter in 2019.
- Seth Caddell (Staunton 2018) is the third of the triumvirate; he’s hitting .306/397/.694 in 49 at-bats, with 11 runs, a double, six home runs, 17 RBIs, and a solid 8/9 BB/K ratio. Caddell played in four games in Staunton in 2018.
