Continuing on with our look at d1baseball.com’s college power rankings by position, today we have one alum each on the second baseman and shortstop lists.

  • Connor Norby (Waynesboro 2019) moved up three spots to #3 on the second basemen list. In 80 at-bats for East Carolina, Norby is hitting .450/.494/.750, with six doubles, six home runs, and seven stolen bases. Norby, like Wes Clarke on the first basemen list, is now getting some draft buzz from Baseball America; BA now ranks Norby at #267.
  • Bennett Hostetler (Covington 2018), plying his trade for North Dakota State, has gone from unranked to #12 on the shortstop list. Hostetler is hitting .460/.600/.714 in 63 at-bats, with eight doubles, two home runs, and 14 stolen bases so far in 2021. He’s certainly hit his groove, as he was named the Summit League’s Player of the Week on Monday for the third time in the last five weeks.

Congrats to both!
