Let’s take a look at some Valley League alumni who had good weekend games:
Friday
- Sonny DiChiara (Strasburg 2019), for Samford: 3-4, three runs, three RBIs, walk, and two home runs. Through Saturday, DiChiara and his monster power has a .630 slugging percentage due to 11 extra base hits in 23 games along with 20 walks. Impressive.
- Riley Davis (Covington 2019), for UAB: Seven shutout innings, two hits, zero walks, five strikeouts, a win (game score of 78). Davis is now 2-1, 1.95, with 10 walks and 32 K’s in 37 innings- having an excellent year so far.
Saturday
- Gabe Montenegro (Waynesboro 2018), for Southern Miss: 3-4, three runs, three RBIs, walk, double, and home run in game one of his doubleheader (he went 1-2 in game two). Through Saturday, Montenegro is hitting .239/.372/.352 in 72 at-bats, with a solid 12/10 BB/K ratio.
- Joe Kinker (Waynesboro 2019), for FGCU: 2-5, three runs, three RBIs, walk, double. Through Saturday, Kinker is hitting .313/.400/.494 in 83 at-bats, with three doubles, four home runs, and 21 RBIs.
Sunday
- Dillon Belle (Covington 2018), for Nicholls: 2-3, two home runs, two runs, two RBIs. Belle is now hitting .262/.366/.426 in 61 at-bats this spring.
