The Old Dominion Monarchs are ranked 25th in the country by d1baseball.com, and this is in no large part due to senior Kyle Battle‘s play.

The senior from Glen Allen, Virginia, is having his best season in college baseball, hitting .278/.442/.611 in 126 at-bats, with 39 runs scored, seven doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, 37 RBIs, and a stupendous 38/20 BB/K ratio. He leads his team in on-base percentage, runs, home runs, and walks. And. he has a sweet beard, too.

You might say Mr. Battle is used to winning, as he played for Charlottesville in the club’s 2017 32-10 regular season and subsequent title. In 33 games and 123 at-bats that summer, Battle hit .244/.298/.309, with 23 runs scored, five doubles, one home run, and 20 RBIs. He also went 7-19 in Charlottesville’s playoff run, with two doubles, three RBIs, and four walks.

With his excellent performance, Battle is starting to get some mention as a possible draftee this summer- and ATVL and the Valley League will be watching!
