  • Harrisonburg at Covington, PPD
  • Waynesboro 9, Staunton 4

  • Winchester 9, Woodstock 7- Austin Bulman walk-off two-run home run! (But also, this boxscore is not available at this time, unfortunately, so this is all the info I have.)
  • Strasburg 16, Purcellville 7

Hitter of the Day

Our Hitter of the Day is Waynesboro’s Max Weller, from Arizona Western, who went 3-4, with two runs, a double, triple, and four RBIs. He was a home run short of the cycle (would have been our second in two days). Weller has hit in all four games so far this summer, and is 7-14 with four runs and five RBIs. In 150 at-bats this spring, he hit .300/.468/.480.

Pitcher of the Day

Our POD is Nick Chittum, who spun five dominating innings for Waynesboro. He went five innings and allowed one hit, one earned run, walked two, and struck out six to earn the win and a game score of 65. He threw a clean inning in relief in his only other appearance this summer. He threw six innings for Eastern Michigan this spring.

Others of Note

  • Ryan Murphy, Front Royal: Five innings, four hits, no runs, two walks, two K’s, win (Game score: 59)
  • Daniel Ouderkirk, Strasburg: 2 2/3 innings, one hit, one run, two walks, seven K’s. I received a report from Matt Neal who said that Ouderkirk threw 28 strikes in his work last night- with an amazing 22 of them swings and misses!
