Our tenth best starter, Dylan White, “only” started in three of his 11 games, but Front Royal included him as a starter in the All-League nominations, and he threw a ton of innings, so here he is!
White, a 6-foot-3 righthander from the University of Chicago, was excellent for the Cards. In 35 1/3 innings, he went 1-2, 3.06, with a 1.246 WHIP, .208 BAA, 4.3 BB/9, and 11.0 K/9. He finished tied for fifth in innings pitched, tied for second in strikeouts, tied for ninth in BAA, and sixth in K/9. His best outing was on June 28 at Strasburg, a place death on pitchers. He fired four no-hit, shutout innings, while walking two and striking out three. He also threw very well at Winchester on July 5, when he gave up two hits, one run, two walks, and struck out six in five innings to earn the win.
In college, White started out in 2020, but threw only 5 1/3 innings. In 2021, he went 3-1, 4.50, with 19 walks and 44 K’s in 40 innings pitched. The Economics major was named MWC Academic All-Conference both seasons.
