Well, look at what we have here- two Woodstock Bandit relievers in a row!

James O’Neal came to the Valley League in the summer of 2021 from San Jacinto, where he went 2-0, 5.11 in only 12 1/3 innings (but with 13 strikeouts, too).

For Woodstock, the 6-foot-6 righthander went 0-0, 1.88 in 14 1/3 innings, with a .222 BAA, 1.119 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9, and 13.2 K/9 (four walks and 21 K’s). Out of pitchers surveyed for this list, he finished tied for sixth in ERA, tied for eighth in WHIP, third in BB/9, and seventh in K/9. His best outing was on July ninth against the tough Strasburg lineup, when he threw four shutout innings while allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out seven.

O’Neal has moved on from San Jacinto and is now enrolled at Incarnate Word in the Division-I Southland Conference.
