Ah, man, I love lists. Love to write ’em, cross items off when completed… and go through them to see if any Valley Leaguers show up.

The latest list is D1baseball.com’s top prospect list, curated here at the midway point of the college season. Four former Valley Leaguers made the list of 150 players- all from the summer of 2021:

  • #104: Geo Rivera, Walters State (Strasburg 2021): Rivera is 5-0, 1.09 in 33 innings, with two saves, seven walks, and 54 K’s. The Oregon State commit was unscored upon in 2021 in 9 2/3 innings with the Express.
  • #117: Sabin Ceballos, San Jacinto (Winchester 2021): The Oregon commit is hitting .318/.452/.487 in 154 at-bats, with nine doubles, a triple, five home runs, and solid 32/35 BB/K. He went 7-39 in 13 games for the Royals in 2021.
  • #124: Nate Furman, Charlotte (Winchester 2021): All he’s doing is hitting .379/.505/.490 in 145 at-bats, with 42 runs scored (in 36 games), nine doubles, two triples, one home run, 31/14 BB/K ratio, and 16 stolen bases in 18 attempts. He was 2021’s top hitter in the league, slashing .400/.556/.580 in 100 at-bats, with 38 runs, seven doubles, a triple, three home runs, and 25 stolen bases.
