Two more performances of note from last weekend:
- Former top relief pitcher (Front Royal 2021) Salvatore Ferro fired a shutout for West Florida against Valdosta State last Saturday. Ferro dominated, allowing only five hits and four walks while striking out eight in the complete game victory. Ferro is now 6-2, 3.56 in 65 2/3 innings, with 21 walks and 51 K’s. (Another former 2021 Cardinal, Trent Jeffcoat, went 3-3 in this game, and is now hitting .383/.473/.455 in 154 at-bats for the Argonauts.)
- Zach Levenson (Waynesboro 2021), the ’21 VBL home run derby champ, had himself quite the weekend for the Miami Hurricanes. As reported by Cal Friedman:
Levenson stood out on Saturday, reaching on all four plate appearances with three hits and three RBI. He launched his fourth home run of the season on Sunday, collecting another three RBI.
He finished the weekend batting .545 with six RBI, and 20 total bases, leading the team in each of those stats.
