Former Valley Leaguer Parker Phillips (Waynesboro 2017) exploded in a huge way in a doubleheader yesterday against Eastern Kentucky, hammering five home runs over the two game sweep for the Govs. Five!
This outburst has raised Parker’s slashlines for 2018 to 297/385/593, with 22 runs, 38 RBIs, 8 doubles, and 9 home runs. He also has a 12/29 BB/K ratio.
Parker came to the Generals after a very good redshirt freshman year with Austin Peay. He hit 328/442/613 in 186 at-bats, with 49 runs, 40 RBIs, 15 doubles, 12 home runs, and had a 17/56 BB/K ratio. He was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, an NCBWA Second Team Freshman All-American, and named to the OVC All-Freshman Team.
With the Generals in 2017, he hit 269/396/395, with 6 doubles and 3 home runs in 119 at-bats. He had a 16/27 BB/K ratio and added 6 stolen bases as well.
