Best Playoff Hitters

While I am frantically working on the top hitters list from the 2018 Valley League season (the only spot that is for certain right now is #1), let’s take a look at the top hitters in the playoffs:

Charlottesville Tom Sox (6 games)

  • Alex Mardinay, Davidson: Alex hit 444/565/833 in 5 games and 18 at-bats. Scored 5 runs, drove in 4, walked 5 times, hit 1 double and 2 home runs. Alex missed a crucial game because of a migraine, but to be fair, the Rebels won that one 14-6.
  • Zac Ching, Virginia Tech Commonwealth: 375/375/750 in 6 games, 24 at-bats, with 5 runs, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs
  • Patrick McColl, Harvard: 7-23, 304/467/435, 3 runs, HR, 4 RBIs, 7 BB

Covington Lumberjacks (3 games)

  • Christian Del Castillo, Seton Hall: 3-7 with 4 RBIs
  • Bennett Hostetler, North Dakota State: 417/500/667 in 12 at-bats; 3 runs, home run, 2 RBIs

Front Royal Cardinals (2 games)

  • Michael Green, Clemson: 4-7, 2 doubles, 3 walks
  • Brady Ballstadt, Piedmont: 5-9, SB
  • Spencer Packard, Arizona Western: 4-9, 2 runs, 2B, 2 RBIs, BB

Harrisonburg Turks (2 games)
