Spotlight on Hudson and Gillespie

ATVL is always looking for new stuff to cover (that’s what happens when a post is due every single day), and the newest idea- an All-American list of college guys who are VBL alums- is causing quite a bit of research. So while I was checking college team stats for hours, I stumbled across two pitchers I haven’t covered yet who are throwing exceedingly well.

Let’s take a look:

  • Davidson’s Josh Hudson (Charlottesville 2016) headlines the Wildcats’ rotation. In 33 innings so far in 2019, the senior is 2-1, 2.45, with a 1.061 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9, and 9.3 K/9. He has 34 strikeouts and only 8 walks.
  • Evan Gillespie (Waynesboro 2018) is dominating for the Faulkner Eagles. The junior lefty is 7-0, 1.50, with a 1.143 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9, and 10.9 K/9 in 42 innings pitched. Evan is a big reason the team is 30-8 so far!

Well done, guys!
