I suppose when it’s 95+ degrees out there and a different weather pattern rolls through, there will be some thunderstorms. And boy were there ever. So three games got wiped out, but three were still played.

And then the games! Almost unbelievable scores were put up by Woodstock in Covington, Harrisonburg exploded, too, and Charlottesville got a little closer to  Waynesboro.

Hitter of the Day

He had to come from this game, right? Our hitter of the day is Woodstock’s Lael Lockhart, from Houston, who was on base a ridiculous seven times last night. He went 4-5, with five runs, a double, two home runs, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and five RBIs. This was not only the best hitting performance of the night, but perhaps of the entire season so far. Lockhart is hitting 340/465/619 in 97 at-bats, with 30 runs, nine doubles, six home runs, 24 RBIs, and a 20/15 BB/K ratio.
