Pitcher of the Day
On June 6, 2017, Front Royal’s Joshua Andrews, from Grand Canyon, completely shut down Winchester, firing seven shutout innings while allowing only one hit, no walks, and striking out 12. For some reason, he pitched out of the bullpen for much of that summer, and finished 2-1, 0.68, with a save, 0.875 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9, and 15.7 K/9 in 26 1/3 innings. ATVL named him the 3rd best reliever. Andrews pitched for Grand Canyon from 2016 to 2019, and went a combined 2-2, 6.06 in 49 innings.
