D1baseball.com has released its All-American lists, and four former Valley Leaguers have been honored!

  • Connor Norby (Waynesboro 2019) is a first teamer at second base. From East Carolina, Norby hit .415/.484/.659 in 246 at-bats, with 15 doubles, 15 home runs, 51 RBIs, a 33/34 BB/K ratio, and 18 stolen bases. He was pretty clearly the best VBL alumnus in D-I this season, and even finished 8th in batting average in the entire country.
  • Jonny Butler (Winchester 2018) was named to the second team in the outfield. The catalyst for NC State, Butler hit .376/.452/.663 in 202 at-bats, with 12 doubles, 14 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases.
  • Kyle Battle (Charlottesville 2017) was named to the third team in the outfield. From Old Dominion, Battle hit .319/.464/.681 in 207 at-bats, with 15 doubles, 18 home runs, 61 RBIs, a ridiculous 56/37 BB/K ratio, and seven stolen bases.
  • Last but not least, NC State’s Evan Justice (Charlottesville 2018) was named a relief pitcher on the third team. Justice went 5-2, 3.77, with 13 saves, a .188 batting average against, and 74 K’s in 59 2/3 innings pitched.

One notable omission is South Carolina’s Wes Clarke (Waynesboro 2019), who tied for the D-1 lead in home runs with 23.

Congratulations to all!
