We have a repeat winner; the 2021 Major League Pitcher of the Year is Colorado’s Austin Gomber, who went 9-9, 4.53 in 115 1/3 innings, with a 1.24 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9, and 8.8 K/9. Gomber started 23 games for the Rockies, and averaged five innings per start. He was drafted in the fourth round in 2014, and has now spent three years in the major leagues. Overall, he’s 16-12, 4.14, with 207 strikeouts and 88 walks in 219 1/3 innings.
According to my records, Gomber pitched in two games for the 2012 Luray Wranglers, and was rather dominant, going 1-0, 0.00, with 15 strikeouts in nine innings.
