As a subscriber of D1Baseball.com, I enjoy the site’s compilations of the top hitters and pitchers each weekend… which I peruse, of course, to find any Valley Leaguers. (Other VBLers had good weekends, too, but I may have more time to go through boxscores next week?)

Over last weekend, February 18-20, six players made the lists:

  • Ryan Galanie, Wofford (Strasburg 2021), went 4-4, with three runs, two RBIs, a walk, and two home runs on Friday (covered here)
  • Pierce Bennett, Wake Forest (Charlottesville 2021), also went 4-4 on Friday, with three runs, five RBIs, and a home run
  • Bryson Parks, Western Carolina (Staunton 2018), went 4-5 on Friday, with two runs, three RBIs, a walk, and home run (Parks’s headshot is the featured photo for this post)
  • Adam Cecere, Wake Forest (Charlottesville 2021), went 2-4 on Sunday, with two runs, three RBIs, and two home runs
  • Brandon Pimentel, UT Rio Grande Valley (Waynesboro 2021), went 3-4, with three runs, six RBIs, and two home runs on Sunday
  • Trace Bright, Auburn (Charlottesville 2021), threw five innings, allowing two hits, one unearned run two walks, and striking out five to earn the win on Sunday (and a game score of 64)
